We are looking for a Java FS Technology Expert for one of the largest European Institutions in Brussels, Belgium, Do you want to work for the EU and impact millions of citizens with the code you write? If yes, we can talk.

Please note: This role is Contract/Freelancer where you will be asked to register your own company. Our contract team can advise you in this process. Also unlike most Freelance roles in the private sector, this role is for a very long time (a couple of years). Hence 0% loss of income or ending up in between projects.

Role: Java FS Technology Expert

Location: Brussels

Contract daily rate: will be shared in the call.

Start date: ASAP

Description of Task:-

The Technology Expert will be responsible for:

• Provision of technical expertise in a selection of the areas described in the section ‘Knowledge and skills’

• Design and development of software, libraries, and modules

• Analysis of the integration of different information systems

• Data analysis and data modeling

• Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings, and meetings with the users

• Technology watch

• Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation, and reporting

Knowledge and skills:-

The Technology Expert will be expected to have:

• Good knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture

• Good knowledge of applications design

• Good knowledge of Relational DBMS

• Good knowledge of business process analysis

• Good knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g., web services, message-oriented middleware, service-oriented bus)

• Excellent knowledge and significant working experience in the deployment of large systems using web services (SOAP, REST)

• Excellent knowledge of web security related to the deployment of SOA (WS-Security and SSL/TLS, PKI)

• J2EE technologies, Java 8 and above, Spring 4/5, Hibernate 3, Junit, Maven, Git, JMS, Angular2

• Transport protocols: TLS, ebMS3, AS4

• Web services: CXF, WSS4J

• Network: DNS, DNSSEC

• Testing: Junit, SOAP UI

• Application servers: Wildfly 9 and above, Tomcat 8 and above, Weblogic 12c

• Database: Oracle 19c, MySQL 5 and 8

• Continuous integration: Bamboo, SonarQube

• Containerization: Docker

• Cloud: BaaS and PaaS
