We are looking for a Database Expert for one of the largest European Institutions in Brussels, Belgium, Do you want to work for the EU and impact millions of citizens with the code you write? If yes, we can talk.
Please note: This role is Contract/Freelancer where you will be asked to register your own company. Our contract team can advise you in this process. Also unlike most Freelance roles in the private sector, this role is for a very long time (a couple of years). Hence 0% loss of income or ending up in between projects.

Project Description:-
Description of Tasks:-
• Architecture and design of information systems;
• Analysis and documentation of requirements following the standards and methodologies established by the Contracting Authority;
• Participate in the analysis and design of database schemas/tables/etc.
• Data analysis and data modelling;
• Development/maintenance of applications that reflect the specifications;
• Design and development of architecture components and building blocks;
• Integration with other applications/systems;
• Production of technical documentation;
• Formulation and/or elaboration of test cases/programs;
• Participate in the deployment and configuration of the system(s);
• Participation in meetings with the Contracting Authority, project teams and user groups.
Knowledge and Skills:-
• Very good knowledge of Oracle database (preferably Oracle 19c or newer).
• Very good knowledge of database design and the use of relevant tools (e.g. TOAD).
• Very good knowledge of creating schemas, tables, stored procedures, and deployment packages (PL/SQL);
• Very good knowledge of writing complex SQL Queries to manage data across multiple databases and tables;
• Good knowledge of conducting database troubleshooting including data validations to ensure that the information is intact, correct, and accessible;
• Basic knowledge of database administration;
• Basic knowledge of Application Servers (Oracle WebLogic Server, Tomcat, etc.);
• Basic knowledge of UNIX/LINUX;
• Good knowledge of software lifecycle development tools like Jira and Confluence
• Good knowledge of Agile methodology and involved concepts;
